Outdoor Adventure - Kaslo Rocks Not surprisingly, Kaslo attracts many outdoor enthusiasts who want to live, work and play in the area. Fortunately for everyone, they are totally committed to creating the best recreational experience for like-minded visitors. Kaslo Trailblazers Society, Kootenay Mountain Sports and the Kaslo Community Forest Society are working on a proposal to develop a new multi-purpose recreation area on the flanks of Mount Buchanan. This area is proposed to become the Kaslo playground for year round outdoor activities. The terrain is ideal for trail oriented activities; in summer, mountain biking, hiking, jogging and back-country running. In winter, the area lends itself to cross-country skiing, back country skiing and snowshoeing.
